Dr. Scott Sasso is a Psychologist located in New York, NY. Dr. Sasso works with teenagers, young adults, and adults in individual, couples, and family settings. Many of Dr. Sasso’s clients feel stuck in their lives, whether that’s because they’re paralyzed by their stress or because they aren’t sure what exactly needs to change for them to feel happy or fulfilled. Sometimes, this can lead to mental health conditions like anxiety or depression. They might be going through periods of transition, and seek therapy as a way to better understand their emotions and to find healthy ways to manage these emotions.

Dr. Sasso’s therapeutic style is straightforward, with an emphasis on self-awareness. He helps clients identify how they’re feeling, which can be a good starting point towards coping with negative or distressing feelings. He encourages clients to reflect on their past experiences and make connections about how these experiences impact their daily lives. This includes psychoeducation around attachment styles, and skills-training for growing healthy relationship dynamics and ceasing unhealthy habits.

Dr. Sasso earned a PhD in Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn. He practices Object Relations Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to offer clients a wide range of modalities, drawing from different modalities to offer comprehensive mental health care.
