Description
The purpose of this Interpersonal Process Psychotherapy Group is to help you develop a deeper understanding of how you relate to yourself and others. This is primarily achieved by exploring your thoughts, feelings, and reactions toward other group members in real time. Through this process, you can gain insight into your relational patterns with those close to you (such as partners, family, colleagues, and friends) and have the chance to experiment with new ways of interacting.
In the group, you will be encouraged to (a) pay attention to your thoughts and feelings and express them verbally, and (b) observe and reflect on the relational roles and dynamics that you may find yourself drawn to. The group provides an experiential "social lab" where you can deepen your self-awareness, receive feedback on how others perceive you, and try out new ways of relating, expressing emotions, handling conflict or differences, and asserting yourself, among other things.
