Therapists In-Network with Multiplan or PHCS in Rhode Island

Multiplan or PHCS is a common health insurance in Rhode Island, and individuals who have Multiplan or PHCS may wish to find therapists who are in-network with their health insurance.

When you see a therapist who is in-network with Multiplan or PHCS, each session you’ll pay only a copay, which typically ranges from $0-$75/session. Depending on your plan, you may first need to pay the provider’s full session fee until you meet your annual deductible, which is the total amount of medical expenses required before your health insurance starts to cover costs. Some plans cover the cost of in-network therapy sessions before the deductible is met; to verify whether your specific plan covers therapy sessions and at what rate, visit the Multiplan or PHCS website or call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your coverage for outpatient mental health.

If you are looking at my profile, chances are you are feeling confused, upset, possibly in emotional or physical pain. My first goal in therapy is to understand what you are going through and to help you sort out your concerns within the context of a safe and compassionate relationship. More simply, I want you to feel understood and cared for. My wish is to create a space where you can begin to heal and find ways to build a more satisfying and purposeful life, in your relationships with others and in how you see yourself.

I understand that reaching out for help can be intimidating. Finding a good fit in a therapist is key to forming a trusting and safe relationship first and foremost. Once this is established it's about finding the right approaches that are effective for each individual or family. In my experience, through this kind of therapeutic alliance – a combination of relationship and skill-building – people can and do overcome emotional challenges and accomplish greater self-understanding, acceptance and life satisfaction.

Compassion, curiosity and humor are the best adjectives to describe my work. I have been a clinical social worker for nearly 30 years and believe more than ever in the power of the 'talking cure.' I provide a safe space for people to share their stories and bear witness to their pain and sorrow. Thru this process people learn to (re) create sustainable lives. I believe that recovery/positive change is always possible and strive to offer people hope thru our work together. While psychodynamically trained, I often use CBT techniques, self compassion and case management on a case by case basis.
