Here at Brighter Day Counseling Services, we focus on empowering diverse individuals, couples, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education and career goals. Our clinicians include: Dr. Sylvia Fumey, LPC, Ed.D and Kenya Easterling, LMFT.
Our approach is based on how culture impacts the perception of receiving mental health services, and the barriers and support in communities. We believe that treatment of the individual should be personalized to their needs and unique to their situation. Interventions we use are evidence-based with a long-term goal of positive transformation.
Brighter Day Counseling Services is a full-service virtual therapy group practice . We offer individual, couples, group, and family therapy sessions.
Dr. Sylvia Fumey offers individual therapy and family therapy and currently has limited availability for clients in NJ, PA, and Fl. She does offer marriage counseling as well, however, this service is an out of pocket expense at $185 for 55 minutes.
Kenya Easterling, LMFT is currently accepting new clients in PA. She has availability Monday-Fridays mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Our therapists at Brighter Day Counseling Services specialize in a variety of areas, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Our clinician, Dr. Fumey, has a speciality in working with individuals with complex life issues, including individuals from different ethnic, cultural, or religious, backgrounds. Kenya has a particular speciality with Perinatal Mental Health. She has experience with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infertility, reproductive trauma grief/loss and terminations for medical reasons.

At Brighter Day Counseling Services, we are in-network with Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Highmark, Cigna/Evernorth, Optum/UHC, Independence Blue Cross, Aetna, Meritain Health, and Quest Behavioral Health.
If you do not have one of these health insurances, our fees range from $60-$160 depending on the provider and service that is being offered.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Loss, grief, and bereavement - Emotionally preparing for the anticipated passing of a loved one; managing feelings and reactions to a death or loss of significance; support during the process of healing and acceptance
Pregnancy, perinatal, postpartum mental health - Addressing issues specific to women and families during the pregnancy and postpartum period, including postpartum depression and anxiety
Race & cultural identity - Exploring topics of racial, cultural, and ethnic background as it relates to one’s family origins and personal identity
Frequency of sessions this provider offers to see clients once you are an established client.
