Equibliss Psychotherapy was founded in 2013 by Dr. Ioana Marcus as a way to integrate her passion for working with clients with eating disorders and trauma, with her love for horses. Our practice is nested in Great Falls at a private barn, in the midst of a beautiful wooded setting where wildlife is always present. Her co-therapists are three horses, her German shepherd, Bravo, and several exceptional human therapists.
Ioana is trained in a myriad of modalities and therapeutic approaches (see continuing education), Ioana has found that the experiential nature of the work with the horses creates a unique opportunity for awareness of one’s own emotions and learning new ways to learn to live more fully, and authentically in relationships with others and our natural environment.
In 2020, Ioana expanded her vision to create an inclusive and collaborative community of psychotherapists by training several psychotherapists who are now practicing equine facilitated therapy whilst integrating their own specialties, such as Qi-Gong, relational counseling, grief counseling, adolescents with mood disorders, and more.
It’s a supportive community that understands the positive impact of the horses as teachers and of our natural environment as our interconnected playground. This provides us with an opportunity to personalize our approach to each client and support their growth.

We offer individual and group psychotherapy that is focused on experiential and somatic approaches rather than just traditional talk therapy. We integrate nature and horses, movement and mindfulness to offer the most supportive awareness and growth for our clients. Our therapists are focused on mood disorders, eating disorders, PTSD/ C-PTSD, and attachment and relational issues. We have seen an increasing number of clients with an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis, ADHD, and adoption trauma as well.
