Their highly skilled therapists are trained and certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a very effective short-term therapy focused on the “here-and-now” to help you reach your goals as rapidly as possible. At FGP, clients will walk away equipped with powerful strategies to overcome anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, phobias, social anxiety (shyness), and more.

We offer individual psychotherapy sessions in our offices in Midtown Manhattan (across from Grand Central Station), FiDi and White Plains (Westchester county), as well as teletherapy or intensive therapy for people who live outside the NYC metro-area.

Our therapists enjoy working collaboratively with motivated individuals of all ages and backgrounds in a highly individualized and supportive way. CBT is effective for a wide range of mental health problems by giving you tools to change the way you feel in a short amount of time.

For those experiencing relationship problems, we will provide you with a roadmap  to achieve  better connections with the important people in your life. This can be done either in individual or couples format.

+ What are your practice's specialties?

At FGP, we provide an advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach created by famous Dr. David Burns at Stanford University. The David Burns approach improves on standard CBT by emphasizing a warm, trusting therapy relationship and adding many effective new techniques including Motivational, Interpersonal, Compassion-focused, Acceptance  and Mindfulness-based techniques for faster recovery.

We specialize in evidence-based approaches, to help adults and adolescents recover from a wide variety of problems. Other specialties include child and adolescent therapy, collaborative parenting support, couples therapy, DBT, and eating disorders.

+ How does payment work at your practice?

The majority of our clinicians accept Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Wellfleet (NYU Student Health Insurance, formerly Consolidated Health Plans - CHP), some of our therapists are also in-network with Lyra Health. Please inquire about current availability by clinician. Your out-of-network insurance might cover part of the fee, depending on your plan. For your peace of mind, we deal and process all claims with your insurance directly.
If you don't have out-of-network benefits or have high deductibles, we will still provide you with excellent and affordable therapy no matter what your budget is. We understand that the cost of therapy might be out of reach for many who would still benefit from treatment, therefore we offer a very generous sliding scale and low fee options.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) - Reducing unwanted intrusive thoughts and rituals by gradually building comfort and confidence facing difficult fears, thoughts, and emotions

Procrastination - Setting goals and creating road maps to move beyond procrastination and self-doubt; building self-awareness and skills to accomplish goals

Low self-esteem - Cultivating self-compassion, assertiveness, and confidence; developing ways to reduce suffering, anxiety, social withdrawal, and self-neglect
