At Harborlight Counseling, we offer you an empathic space to examine and reflect upon each intricate part of who you are and what defines you. We believe that everyone is entitled to happiness and self-determination, and have built a team of licensed professionals to help you achieve empowerment and well-being.
We want you to feel better. This is why we only use evidence-based therapy modalities proven to get results, including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and more. These protocols help dissolve the obstacles keeping you from getting what you want. As problems are resolved, the necessary resources for you to move forward are discovered and developed.
Our team is made up of Jay Poswinski, Clare Kane, Hannah Batista, Moira Nelligan, Sereina Colon, Cameron O'Connor, and HR director Morgan Haber. The team provides services to clients living in both New Jersey and Connecticut. Each clinician accepts most major insurance, including state Medicaid, for both CT and NJ.
Additionally, Harborlight Counseling is founded on reducing team member burnout, increased therapist compensation, and promoting professional growth and development. We have made it our mission to build a business on fair and equitable treatment for our clinicians. This equitable approach to our practice allows our clinicians to be more meaningfully present and engaged with clients. Our team and clients alike can attest to the difference this approach has made in both client and therapist well-being.
We warmly invite you to contact us by phone or email, or to explore our website to learn more about our practice and our mission. We offer a free phone consultation and have immediate availability. Harborlight Counseling offers individual, couple, family, and group therapy sessions.
As a group practice, Harborlight has multiple clinicians specializing in a variety of areas. Some of these include anxiety, depression, trauma, loss and grief, substance use, relationship issues, infertility, family issues, mood disorders, and more. Our team has literal decades of combined experience working with the previously listed problems. Additionally, our team has significant experience working with adolescents and teenagers at various levels of care, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. As such, we are happy to accept clients aged 12 and older to work with clinicians who specialize in working with young people. Harborlight also offers a specialized treatment group for infertility called Hopeful Pathways. The group was founded by Clare Kane and Morgan Haber to offer help to women experiencing infertility and includes both individual and group counseling.
Our practice stands apart from other groups and agencies as we are explicitly focused on the mutual well-being of both providers and clients alike. Too many mental health professionals are overworked, underappreciated, poorly compensated, and taken advantage of by group practices. When clinicians are not valued, client work suffers and clients are treated without value. With private equity and greedy group practices more prevalent than ever in the field of mental health, clients and clinicians alike have become data points and client care has suffered significantly. Our mission is to combat greed in mental health by creating a group that views clients and clinicians alike as equal stakeholders deserving of respect and empowerment. Harborlight Counseling has over 35 years of combined experience in the field of mental health. We are focused on 'doing it right', for both clients and clinicians.
We are in-network with most major insurance carriers for both Connecticut and New Jersey. If you don't have insurance, session fees are typically $125 per session. However, we always work on a need-based sliding scale. We use a PCI-secure electronic health record system to process payments. If we don't accept your insurance, we will help you receive out-of-network benefits to help cover the cost of services.
