Welcome to Nyame Counseling & Wellness. First and foremost I thank you for considering allowing me to support you in your life journey. The strength and courage it takes to seek help is unmatched. Life can sometimes hit in a way that makes us feel uniquely alone, but therapy can help you sort through your experiences so that you might begin to reconnect with your life in meaningful ways.
The word “ Nyame” is the last name of the practice owner and the Director of Counseling Services (Joey Nyame) , but also a Ghanaian cultural reference to the power of God in our lives. Though I do not offer religion-based services, I invite people of all spiritual orientations to explore the life-affirming power of therapy. As a practitioner of humanistic therapeutic approaches, I recognize the humanity in all experiences. NCW therapists attempt to foster a space that is empathetic and non-judgmental so that you feel safe enough to challenge yourself to choose differently. I hope that the space I create together allows people of all identities to flourish and feel empowered to make decisions that lead them to live their best life. This is the gift of therapy.
We offer individual, couples and couples telehealth sessions for clients over 14 years of age.
The therapists at Nyame Counseling & Wellness specialize in a variety of areas, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. We have a particular special interest in working with adults experiencing life transitions and individuals of marginalized identities.
Nyame Counseling & Wellness is unique in that all our providers undergo regular supervision and training to ensure that they are up to date with the latest innovations in psychotherapy.
