Welcome to my page!
My name is Elizabeth Geraldes, and I am a Neurodivergent Therapist with extensive education and training in EMDR, trauma-focused care, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Much of my experience has been working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation immigrants and individuals navigating generational trauma. I specialize in supporting those with anxiety disorders, as well as individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
I have dedicated years to trauma-focused practice, particularly in addressing experiences of abuse, violence, and intergenerational trauma. My certifications include CBT, TEAM-CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, CBT-I, and DBT, with additional expertise in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), EMDR, and the Nurtured Heart Approach. I also have experience in treating tics through CBIT techniques.
My passion has always been to provide relief, hope, and healing to my clients. I began my journey in mental health as a Respite Worker, Clinical Case Manager, Crisis Counselor for a NYC suicide hotline, Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor. Now, as a private practice owner and Academic Specialist, I am fully dedicated to providing compassionate and expert care in a nonjudgmental environment. Since founding my practice in April 2021, my goal has been to support those ready to take the next step in their healing journey with empathy, understanding, and a depth of clinical expertise.
I offer virtual individual and group therapy sessions, providing accessible and flexible support. Additionally, I provide clinical supervision for Licensed Associate Counselors (LACs) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) seeking to fulfill the required hours for their Approved Clinical Supervisor certification. I also specialize in virtual EMDR therapy sessions, helping clients process and heal from trauma in a supportive and structured environment.
I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, including phobias, panic disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), as well as depression and trauma. With years of experience, I have worked extensively with mood disorders, borderline personality disorder (BPD), dissociative identity disorder (DID), ADHD, Autism, and complex PTSD (C-PTSD). Additionally, I have a strong background in supporting children facing academic challenges and young adults navigating the transition from childhood to adulthood.
When looking for a therapist, you want to make sure you feel comfortable around them. I have extensive training and experience for over 10 years in working in this field, however, my biggest strength is that I have a lot of compassion for the well-being of my clients. I am very dedicated to helping anyone, in achieving their goals. I understand the frustrations in dealing with day-to-day stressors, sometimes you just need someone you can talk to who can provide meaningful support without judgment.
I accept certain insurance plans through Headway, including Cigna, Aetna, Oxford, UHC, and Optum. Headway will verify your insurance and handle claim submissions directly on your behalf. For Horizon BCBS, I personally submit claims directly to the insurance company. If you are out-of-network, session fees range from $125 to $200, depending on the services provided.
