Therapy Insights Practice is a group therapy practice located in Midtown Manhattan (steps away from the Empire State Building). Our approach is trauma informed/skill based in nature and we apply a wide range of techniques including CBT, DBT, EMDR, SFBT and EFT to address issues including complex trauma, mood/anxiety disorders and relationship issues.

Our staff consists of 12 clinicians all with various focuses and we service individuals, couples, adolescents (age 16+), families and seniors. Many of our clients are from the LGBTQ community and our staff is trained to address their specific needs which include an understanding of systemic trauma and the impact it has throughout the lifespan. We provide a safe space for those who identify as non-binary and those in process of transitioning. Our clinicians provide couples therapy to those exploring intimacy and sexuality, open-relationships, ethical non-monogamy, among other constructs to help solidify what feels right for each couple. In addition, couples therapy can include discernment counseling, pre-marital counseling, high-conflict resolution, infidelity, contemplating divorce and post-divorce challenges.

Our clinicians make a thorough assessment of your needs to formulate goals and work collaboratively with you throughout the therapy journey. We focus on strengths, resources and solutions while carefully working through traumatic experiences, identifying intense emotions and thought patterns and carefully help you navigate an approach that feels authentic to you.

About

What services does your practice offer?

In addition to the various populations we serve, each of our clinicians specialize in different areas and have their own unique skills to provide their clients quality care to address their mental health needs. Some of our clinicians offer evening and weekend hours, exclusively remote or in-person or offer a hybrid (combination of both). Some of our clinicians identify as queer, gay, lesbian, non-binary and all are comfortable referring to each others preferred pronouns. Some clinicians ethnicities include Greek, Latino and Jewish and some are bi-lingual.

What are your practice's specialties?

Our clinicians have extensive training on the issues of complex trauma, systemic trauma mood/anxiety disorder, relationship and communication issues, couples counseling, grief, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, ADHD, eating disorders, family issues and social relationships. We serve many from the LGBTQ community and address their specific needs as well as those who are non-binary and those in the process of transitioning genders in addition to clients who feel stuck and haven’t been able to place an exact label of what’s keeping them from progressing in life.

How does payment work at your practice?

Therapy Insights Practice is currently in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Unitedhealthcare (Oxford, Optum, Oscar and UMR) and Magnacare (see expanded list on insurance section). At Therapy Insights Practice, we understand the high cost and demand of mental health services and encourage our clients to use their insurances to pay for sessions. Our practice bills insurances directly for you and if you are in-network, you would only be responsible for deductibles/copays subject to your plan. If you are looking to obtain sessions without insurance, our out-of-pocket fee is $175 per session. We do offer a sliding scale to those in financial need and encourage you to state your financial needs so we can best assist you. Our office assistant Max Maudlin, will assist you in the entire process.

Why should I choose your practice?

Our clinicians at Therapy Insights Practice are skilled and dedicated; non-judgemental and inclusive and have extensive experience in the lead therapeutic modalities in the mental health field. Our practice is comprised of many from the LGBTQ community and our clinicians have been trained to understand their specific needs. Our clinicians identify as straight, queer, bi, non-binary, male, female in addition to being ethnically diverse and some bi-lingual. We use pronouns of our choice and encourage others to as well. We work with all populations (ages 16+) and we are in-network with major commercial insurances. We provide hybrid, in-person and virtual options for therapy sessions. Clinicians work various days and hours which can benefit those with time constrictions. Most importantly, finding the right clinician is such an important decision and we help you match with the best therapist for your specific needs during the initial consult.
