Through the Forest Counseling is a full-service psychotherapy practice in the Boston area that offers, individual, couples, and group counseling.
They see teens, adults across the lifespan, including young adults and college students, parents, couples, and families. In addition the English, some of their clinicians are fluent in Spanish and Hatian Creole.
They specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. They also offer life after graduation and young girls empowerment groups.
The clinicians are trained in a number of different treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Thearapy, mindfulness practices, and Supportive Therapy.
Through the Forest Counseling is a diverse group that offers services in different languages and has daytime, evening, and weekend appointments.
Each therapist on the team brings a unique background that ensures their ability to understand where you are coming from and where you want to go.
The group is in-network with:
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love
Relationships - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating
Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress
