Dr. Ernestine Tasong is a dual board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and a family nurse practitioner (FNP) provider in Ohio, WA and MA. She specialized in depression, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic attacks, PTSD, social anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and schizophrenia and much more. She has 20+ years of excellent, high-quality healthcare experience. She has worked in multiple settings, including telehealth, long-term care, home care, primary care, psychiatry care clinics, insurance, urgent care, hospice, and an inpatient behavioral hospital.
At an early age, I gravitated toward mental health and found myself drawn to understanding the complexities of human emotions and behavior. I grew up in a culture where mental health stigma was prevalent and many people were suffering in silence
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I am a preceptor for students in many schools. This task challenges me daily to research what is out there to better help my students and patients.
How do your own core values shape your approach to care?
I understand the diversity of cultures, and I am open to listening to all that is pertinent to the care of my patients with the goal of helping them achieve the best health possible.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am excited to be able to help improve access to quality mental health care. I keep myself updated on the recent research on other mental health treatment modalities
