Matt Leschiner is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner located in Washington, DC. Matt works with clients across a wide range of mental health conditions, symptoms, and life situations. He is passionate about supporting clients from the LGBTQ community to access high quality mental health services. Individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder work with Matt to live more comfortably and productively.
While Matt is a Nurse Practitioner, he doesn’t focus entirely on diagnosis or labels. Rather, he gets to know each client by their story, goals, and backgrounds. He pays attention to their specific symptoms and comes up with a treatment plan that is unique for each person. When appropriate, Matt prescribes medications for his clients to help alleviate their symptoms. After starting them on medication, he continues to work with clients to ensure that the medication is the right one for them and at the correct dosage. Matt is also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and existential therapy practices.
Matt earned a Master’s degree in Skilled Nursing from The George Washington University. He has over six years of experience working in psychiatry and helping clients with their mental health symptoms. He provides down-to-earth, personable mental health services for clients of all backgrounds and identities. He commits himself to authenticity and encourages clients to access their own resilience in the face of challenges.
