Professional statement

Dr. William Kamens sees adults for general psychiatry and is happy to help patients with major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, PTSD, and other conditions.  Psychiatry has been an enlightening way for Dr. Kamens to see his patients broadly as people, in ways that allowed for complexity and differences. He finds it humbling to work in a field where there is so much still unexplained and unknown.

One main reason why Dr. William Kamens joined Mindful Health Solutions is because he wants his patients to have access to a wide range of evidence-based treatments, including medications, psychotherapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). TMS and Esketamine are newer treatments that we can offer patients when they haven’t found success with other treatments. Dr. Kames feels fortunate to be part of a practice with so much expertise in these treatments.

Dr. Kamens has a collaborative approach with his patients. He likes to know what his patients’ goals are so that he can tailor the treatment to help them achieve their goals as much as possible. Knowing what’s important to his patients helps him to know what treatments to recommend or when to suggest a change to the treatment. He find that his patients experience the most success if they are open to talking about their treatment options.
