With over 16 years of experience as a traveling psychiatrist, she has a unique perspective that is enhanced by her relatability. In a time where everyone is busy and overwhelmed, Dr. Goodwin makes it a priority to create a safe space for you and hold space for you. She offers online sessions to clients in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, Missouri, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
She believes in more than just medication. Dr. Goodwin’s philosophy is “minimal medication for maximum effect.” She believes that good mental health is a human right and is making it accessible to you. She will patiently guide you through a customized strategy to get you the better mental health you deserve. She utilizes psychotherapy, mindset solutions, and medication, when necessary. A significant amount of patients in her practice are not on medication.
Dr. Goodwin is a graduate of Spelman College and Emory University School of Medicine. She then completed her General Psychiatry Residency at Morehouse School of Medicine and a Congressional Fellowship. She finished her education with a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Harvard University-Children’s Hospital Boston.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - Healing painful experiences and memories from the past
Stress management - Strengthening effective ways of coping with the stress of life and change; managing expectations of self and others
Panic attacks / panic disorder - Brief, intense periods of overwhelming fear or anxiety
Entrepreneur mental health - Processing through the emotional highs and lows of running a business; learning about one’s values and exploring how these values impact the decisions that one makes for the business
