Professional statement

Alexandra uses mindfulness, internal family systems, narrative therapy, and increasingly somatic approaches. Her clients report they feel safe, respected, and encouraged. She works from a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive framework.

Message to clients

I am warm, collaborative, and focused on my client's goal for therapy. I challenge them when it is helpful in a mindful and direct way and invite feedback. I want my clients to bring the part of themselves they are afraid to show the world–to express their full self in session, to meet them with compassion, and pull apart what does and does not serve them.

It is my job to help clients integrate what we learn in sessions so they can feel empowered in their lives, confident in their strengths, and compassionate toward their struggles. I work with many who feel they are "not enough," or alternately, "too much." I understand grief, what it's like to be out of sync with one's age group, and to be insecure professionally. I understand the unique challenges of being a parent to a child with special needs or a child to a dying parent. I will help you trace your personal and professional struggles back to your primary relationships, and help you replace unhelpful coping strategies with helpful ones.
