Dr. Allison Silvers is a licensed clinical psychologist. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford after completing an APA-accredited internship in Health Service Psychology.
Allison has experience working in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings providing therapy and conducting psychological assessments. She also has provided therapy in many area college counseling centers including University of Rhode Island, Connecticut College, and Rhode Island School of Design.
Allison enjoys working with all ages of adults within individual therapy. Allison’s approach to providing therapeutic services is based on the unique needs of each individual. Making sure therapy is collaborative and growth oriented is important to Allison. Therefore, she utilizes an integrative approach to treatment, with emphasis on person-centered and cognitive behavioral strategies. It is through this combination of therapy approaches that an individual receiving therapy feels heard, understood, and begins to make positive change in thinking and behavioral patterns in daily life. Allison welcomes all individuals, whether it be LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, or other marginalized groups.
Individual therapy sessions are offered remotely at this time for safety and convenience. Therapy is conducted via a secure video platform. This platform also offers various features to make logistic aspects of appointments manageable. These include paperless exchange of documents, online scheduling, and appointment reminders. Please be aware services are offered to those who will be physically located in Rhode Island during the time of their appointment.
