Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT Specialties • Insurance & Fees • LocationsAlma Tejeda LMFT is a bilingual (Spanish/ English) first generation Latina, psychotherapist based in Southern California, specializing in Latinx Family systems, parent/child therapy and individual adult therapy.
Alma believes that early childhood experiences and relationships shape the way in which individuals relate to the world as adults. In particular, how people experience, connect and relate in later adult relationships.
Alma takes an eclectic approach including Cognitive behavioral therapy (how thoughts feelings and behaviors are interconnected), and attachment based psychodynamic and person-centered approaches to meet each individuals need.
Alma enjoys working with both individuals and families. Alma focuses on individuals who have experienced past trauma and suffer with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, perfectionism, and parenting support. Alma specializes and is passionate about working with the parent-child (dyad) as well.
Alma’s priority is to provide her clients with insight, reflection, and skills to help clients meet their therapy goals. Whether they are self-healing, self-growth, self-alignment or working towards the ending of old cycles and patterns. Alma works at her client’s pace, and gently challenges them to challenge themselves.
