Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCAmanda Osman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Richmond Hill, NY. Amanda helps clients who suffer from anxiety and depression, including Seasonal Affective Disorder. Many of her clients develop mental health issues because of low self-esteem, excessive worry about what others think about them, or loneliness. Others begin therapy because they’re struggling with a transitional period, including a transition within their relationships. This could occur because of infidelity or the arrival of a new baby, however it leaves individuals feeling lonely and confused. Amanda provides empathetic guidance for all of her clients so they can feel confident and comfortable navigating daily life.
Amanda’s main goal for her clients is to grow their sense of self-worth. She encourages clients to follow the concepts of positive psychology. This could include recognizing what they’re grateful for throughout the day or changing their mindset to certain situations. She also offers interpersonal therapy to help clients relate to others intentionally and with healthy boundaries. This is especially helpful when relationships are going through periods of change. Clients learn how to identify negative thought patterns through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which Amanda uses to help clients change their unhealthy or harmful routines. Clients practice maintaining a positive outlook on who they are and what they do, reducing the number of critical or judgmental thoughts that they have about themselves.
Amanda earned a Master’s degree from City of New York, Queens College. She has worked with clients for over ten years, providing them with the mindset and tools they need to feel self-assured and comfortable with where their lives are at. Clients leave therapy with Amanda feeling motivated to continue their personal growth while celebrating their progress.
