Amanda Summers

Amanda Summers is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor located in Vallejo, CA. Amanda specializes in working with people going through major life transitions, including exploring identity and sexuality. Many of Amanda’s clients face feelings of stress or grief as they navigate change, which can bring up emotions related to past experiences of change. She also enjoys working with entrepreneurs as they face the unique challenges of starting a new business.

Amanda takes a nonjudgmental and collaborative approach to therapy with clients. Her goal is to provide clients with the tools and space they need to grow their self-awareness and to develop a better understanding of their emotions, particularly through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). For those who face challenges related to change, she helps them to reframe the change and to establish a healthier relationship with that change. Amanda takes a relational approach, which means that clients reflect on their relationships and their support systems as they cope with negative emotion.

Amanda earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. She endeavors to show clients that they aren’t alone and that they have the support they need to get through challenging times in life.
