He/Him/HisLicensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSW
Andrew Leonard is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who provides individual psychotherapy services to adults. Andrew specializes in working with adults (18+) who are experiencing challenges related to trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and managing stress. Andrew is passionate about working with others to promote the meaningful change they are seeking.
Andrew draws from multiple evidence-based treatment modalities, dependent upon an individual’s personality, what the client is struggling with, and what they would likely respond to best. Some of the more common approaches Andrew utilizes include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Andrew believes having a multi-faceted approach allows him to better tailor his treatment approach to each person’s individual needs.
Andrew offers an easy going and relaxed treatment approach that allows people to feel comfortable, at ease, and free from judgment. Psychotherapy with Andrew is very much a collaborative effort in which the client always has final say on what the area of focus is and what the treatment goals are. Andrew believes that small steps towards desired goals will always add up to significant progress in the long run, and, therefore, will always work with clients at the rate they are comfortable with. Andrew believes that everyone is capable of meaningful change, and is committed to helping every client he works with to achieve that goal.
Due to the current COVID pandemic, Andrew is offering online psychotherapy only at this time. However, this will continue to be monitored, and in-person sessions will also be available once it is deemed appropriate and safe for all. Andrew is committed to ensuring he is the right fit for those he will be working with, and offers free phone or video consultations upon request.
