Andrew is a practicing psychotherapist with just over eighteen years experience and has passionately explored and invested his efforts to help people live rich, meaningful lives. For Andrew, that means assisting individuals to move in the direction that matters most to them deep in their heart. Through connection with valued living, his goal as a therapist is to empower each client to learn real skills that form the foundations of the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy model better known as ACT. ACT is a novel and unique approach to the psychotherapy conversation, as it focuses its energy in developing the resources for psychological flexibility that in a nutshell is designed to help anyone to open up, connect with the present moment, and do what matters. Through a deep understanding of acceptance (what it is and what it isn’t) and mindfulness (how to engage it) new roads, new paths, to committed action (the doing of our lives) becomes possible.
Andrew’s work focuses on individual therapy with both adolescents and adults through the broad spectrum of our shared emotional experience. Anxiety, stress, depression, relational conflict, and traumatic emotional injury are his areas of specialty in both psychotherapy and coaching contexts. As an avid, life long athlete, with a deep history in competitive tennis and the martial arts, he strives to help other athletes and performers to reach their full potential.
