Professional statement

I have been a therapist for 25 years and have worked in the field for 30 years. My practice is open to adults that are dealing with a variety of struggles. I am skilled in treating a wide range of the challenges people face in their daily lives. If you are dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression as well as other types of difficulties, then you will be served well in my practice. Approaches such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution focused strategies are utilized in this practice. I have extensive experience in working in educational settings and am very familiar with stress that teachers endure in their work. I have also done considerable work with parenting, occupational struggles, relationship difficulties, phobias, and attention deficit disorder.

I began my private practice 10 years ago and I have been able to keep this as an independent practice. I feel an independent practice allows me to place more focus on the client's needs vs getting caught up in "red tape". I find that the most important ingredient in counselling is the relationship and genuineness of the practitioner, all of which you will find in this practice. I strive to create a comfortable non-judgmental atmosphere for individuals to work on the issues that are creating obstacles in their life's. A little about me: I enjoy the outdoors, playing bass guitar, movies, and creating landscape gardens. I am currently accepting clients for virtual sessions, and I do offer weekend hours.

Message to clients

I recognize that making the decision to begin in therapy is not easy. Therefore, I strive to make the process feel non-threatening. Many people begin to feel empowered just by the very fact that they are working on goals. I recognize that although people's challenges do have similarities every person experiences their troubles in a unique way. I find that it is critical to find an approach that best matches your personality and learning style. I strive to find strengths that are buried within my clients. And utilize those strengths in the healing process. If you feel that you are "stuck" in trying to figure out your life's challenges. Then lets find the keys to unlock your potential! I look forward to you having an improved outlook.
