Anna Mancuso is a licensed psychotherapist right outside Boston. She has been a practicing social worker for 12 years. Her areas of expertise and interest include trauma, vicarious trauma/first responders, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, relationship challenges, maternal mental health, and immigration mental health. She enjoys working with people navigating change and also wanting to reflect on past and current experiences. Many of her clients are individuals in college or graduate school, working professionals or even stay at home parents.
Ms. Mancuso has worked in the field of trauma for much of her professional career. She is currently an adjunct lecturer at the Boston College School of Social Work and has also taught at the Boston University School of Social Work since 2016. She also co-facilitates groups that work to build stress management skills for professionals struggling with vicarious trauma.
She worked for many years providing direct mental health services to patients at Boston Medical Center, including refugees, asylum seekers and their families. While that is a specific population, experience working with trauma informs the rest of her current practice: much of what someone with trauma may experience, like fear or sadness or stress, is also present in other situations like depression or anxiety or life changes. Whether it be a new mom adjusting to her new role, a young professional navigating a challenging relationship or a first responder struggling —these are all situations with which she is familiar.
Ms. Mancuso is currently seeing patients virtually only.
