Dr. Armaghan Ghassemi is a psychologist located in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Ghassemi has nearly 40 years of experience as a psychologist, and specializes in helping teenagers and adults with mood disorders, which includes anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Many of Dr. Ghassemi’s clients feel as if they can’t control their emotions, which might negatively impact their health by interrupting eating or sleeping patterns. Their mental health might also lead to feelings of isolation or conflict at work or in relationships.
Dr. Ghassemi’s approach to helping clients draws from psychodynamic and psychoanalytic practices. She teaches clients how to reflect on their inner worlds, expanding their understanding of themselves. Clients openly process through their thoughts, learning more about their instincts and innate drives. They identify their needs and discuss how their needs influence how they live their lives. Dr. Ghassemi provides calm guidance throughout this process, highlighting themes and insights. From their work in sessions, clients can see a reduction in their mental health symptoms.
Dr. Ghassemi earned a PhD from the California Graduate School of Psychology in 1999.
