She works with individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults, helping them navigate adjustment issues, emotional challenges, stress, anxiety, health challenges and stress-related illness, interpersonal difficulties, loss, life transitions and more. Beth has particular expertise in and passion for using mind-body and mindfulness-based approaches, which she integrates to address a wide range of mental health concerns.

In her treatment approach, Beth draws on a combination of evidence-based practices, including mindfulness, polyvagal informed practices, cognitive-behavioral therapy, somatic based practices, positive psychology, and acceptance and commitment therapy. She emphasizes the mind-body connection and helps clients develop practical tools to cultivate resilience, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. She has additional training in clinical hypnosis and biofeedback . Beth believes in not only addressing immediate problems but also in using integrative approaches to help transform lives and promote greater wholeness.

Beth’s therapeutic style is characterized by compassion, empowerment, and a strength-based model. She creates a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while learning practical tools that they can bring into their daily lives to enhance their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health and well-being. Dr. Kurland works collaboratively with her clients, helping them unlock their inner resources and discover that they don't need to "fix" themselves to experience positive change and healing.

With extensive experience with patients across the lifespan since 1994, as well as her work as a mind-body life coach, TedX and public speaker, and author of four award winning books focused on reducing stress, cultivating well-being, working with difficult emotions, and living one’s fullest life, Dr. Kurland brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her therapeutic work.

Message to clients

If you have found yourself here on this page, I honor the steps you have taken to seek help and I welcome the opportunity to support you on your path to wholeness and well-being. As a fellow traveler on this journey, I have learned first hand the power of mind-body and strength-based approaches to healing, the power of having a safe and supportive environment in which to explore emotions and welcome all parts of ourselves without judgment, and the power to work collaboratively with a trusted other toward lasting and meaningful change.

In my work with my clients I start with a strength-based approach so you can see what is working (and not just what isn't working). I believe that true change comes about, not by finding what's wrong and fixing it, as much as finding what's right and strengthening it. In our work together I will help you learn how to access your inner toolkit, how to enhance and grow inner resources to support you as you navigate challenges, and how to shift from "hole self" view to "Whole Self view". My goal is to help you experience greater ease, resilience and well-being in your life so you can shift from feeling like you are just surviving to thriving and flourishing. I look forward to the opportunity to talk with you further and help you meet your goals.
