Caroline works with clients struggling with symptoms from trauma. These symptoms can include guilt/shame, low self esteem, intrusive sexual thoughts/beahviors, dissociative tendencies, as well as challenges within one's relationship.
Therapy with Caroline emphasizes the use of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), psychodynamic therapy, and couple's counseling techniques. Often client's come to Caroline because they have heard of EMDR, and are curious if it is something that may help them. Others come with a problem rooted in shame or trauma (attachment issues, triggers, low self esteem, and trauma responses) and are unsure of how this can be fixed but are looking for support towards change!
Couples may be looking for improved connection, better communication, and helpful ways to support eachother when one or both individuals are handling their own prior traumas. Caroline welcomes all into her practice, and is happy to help those curious about emdr, as well as help those that see what they are struggling with and have no clue what the first step is.
Therapy with Caroline is introspective, thoughtful, personal, and nonjudgemental. She works to create a safe space for vulnerability, processing, and personal growth. Taking special measures to ensure a personal feel, getting to know you, your values, and remember important details shared. She is an EMDR professional, a certified clinical trauma professional, experience with couples counseling and Gottman method level one, with her masters in mental health counseling from Northwestern University. Offering telehealth in New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
