Message to clients

Hello, I am Dr. Chisato Komatsu and am a Licensed Psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level.

My practice includes short and long term intervention helping individuals and parents identify and attain goals. I will guide you through identifying goals, learning multiple strategies and applying those strategies in various settings. I utilize evidence-based data-driven interventions, which help individuals and parents learn how to take action in their lives to achieve ideal outcomes in a safe, confidential and empathic environment.

In the current environment, parents are being uncharacteristically challenged, with factors including work, caring for children and/or family members, supporting children with school work, maintaining the safety and wellbeing of self and family, and managing difficult emotions. Parents are asked to wear many hats all at the same time, and this may appear unattainable to many. As a mother of two, I’m experiencing it myself.

I specialize in working with individuals and parents (i.e., parent training) so they can identify the problem(s) at hand. Let’s work to decrease challenging behaviors while increasing appropriate behaviors, ultimately enhancing the overall well-being for each family member.
