Christie Cunningham is a person-centered therapist who works to create a space where you can be unapologetically yourself. She provides non-judgmental, compassionate and affirming support to individuals navigating the complexities of life, including dealing with depression and anxiety, navigating significant life transitions, and exploring gender identity and sexuality. She has specific experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals (particularly transgender and non-binary individuals), neurodivergent individuals, activists, artists, college students, lawyers and teachers.
Christie’s Feminist Therapy approach is rooted in understanding, respect, and empowerment. She offers a safe environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. You’ll work together to identify your strengths and cultivate a sense of authenticity and self-acceptance. Working from a perspective of cultural humility and drawing from evidence-based practices, she tailors therapy to meet your specific needs and goals. She commits to providing you with the support you need to thrive in all aspects of your life.
The goal in Christie’s work is to help clients identify their individual values - anything that will help a client feel a sense of purpose or meaning in their life - work through any obstacles that they are experiencing – both internal and external – and take steps towards those values.
For transgender and non-binary individuals seeking support in medical transitioning, Christie can work with you to explore that and provide any support you need in the process (including letters as needed).
