Dr. Chuck Schaeffer is a clinical psychologist in private practice in the West Village, New York City. He has deep expertise in helping clients build the skills to navigate major life stage transitions with confidence. He supports clients through college, marriage, and parenting while maintaining strong relationships, work-life balance, and productive daily routines.

Dr. Schaeffer helps professionals, new parents, and couples identify goals and work towards greater meaning in their lives. He utilizes a person-centered, strength-based approach that allows clients to overcome anxiety, sleep disruption, procrastination, emotion dysregulation, and lack of focus.

Perinatal mental health - Addressing issues specific to women and families during the pregnancy and postpartum period, including postpartum depression and anxiety

Men's health - Expertise in working with adult men; providing a safe and understanding space to address life challenges and promote physical and mental health

Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love

Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress
