Professional statement

Colin Bergeson, LCSW, has recently moved back to Eastern North Carolina after having started a successful practice in New Jersey. He specializes in teen and adolescent therapy, mental health within the education systems, parenting, and autism spectrum disorders.

Colin Bergeson's practice is currently accepting new clients for telehealth services. He offers a free consultation and utilizes a variety of treatment approaches. He believes every person is unique and their concerns should be treated as such. He takes a highly individualized approach to provide quality and consistent care. He is trained in various Parenting programs including Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) Level 4 Standard and Level 4 Gold, ARC GROW, and Nurtured Heart. Clinical interventions vary depending on the concern, but Colin uses a mixture of CBT, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Solutions-focused, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, and more.

Colin received his Master of Social Work from East Carolina University. He has held roles with Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care and was a clinical supervisor for a mobile response and stabilization service in New Jersey. Colin opened his first agency while living in New Jersey, but recently relocated to Eastern North Carolina with his wife, two-year-old son, and 11-year-old dog. I have worked as a therapist providing individual, groups, and family therapy in multiple settings. Colin loves working with mental health concerns within educational systems and with parents struggling with their children's behaviors.

Colin is offering telehealth therapy 5 days a week with both daytime and evening hours. He does not have a waitlist and accepts insurance, private pay, and Out of Network Benefits. If you are looking for therapy within the comfort of your home or office, please call or text today.

Message to clients

Wellness is a journey, not a destination. Webster defines wellness as: "the quality or state of being in good health especially as an actively sought goal". Wellness is the combination of our mental, emotional, and physical selves and it takes work and effort to maintain positive changes. I do not expect perfection from my clients and some days will be harder than others. My hope for anyone who chooses to work with me is to provide a safe space for you to feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, emotions, and opinions on what has occurred in your life. Life can be stressful, anxiety-provoking, depressing, and just flat-out difficult at times without adding in potential mental health concerns, major life transitions, or conflict.

Whether you are a teenager, adult, or a parent. Whether you are looking for help for yourself or for a loved one. Taking the next step is often difficult and scary. Finding the right therapist is an important piece of the puzzle. I aim to bring my whole authentic self to these sessions with you and to take the next step of your journey at your side.

I am actively accepting new clients for telehealth sessions. I accept multiple insurance carriers so please check my profile and website or give me a call/text to confirm.
