Professional statement

Dana Loreaux is a licensed marriage and family therapist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also licensed in California and can see clients virtually who live there.

Dana’s clinical expertise is in helping clients build insight and understand themselves more deeply. She enjoys working with people who are curious and have a desire to deepen their lives and relationships with others. Dana can help you explore beliefs you may have about yourself and the world around you that keep you in a place of mental tension, and may hold you back from experiences and opportunities you want to pursue.

Dana works with clients who struggle to feel present in their lives, and wish to learn how to slow down. She believes the work done in therapy has to be collaborative, and that there is no “one size fits all” approach. She wants to make room for the unique person that you are and learn more about what you have experienced in your life that has shaped you.

Dana also enjoys working with couples who want their relationship to work but are struggling to understand each other or connect with each other in moments of turmoil. She will try to understand more about the ways in which you enter disconnection, and more about your separate and shared emotional histories that contribute to these moments. This can lead to a deeper sense of intimacy and emotional security.

Dana received her bachelors in psychology and masters in counseling psychology. After grad school, Dana worked at community mental health agencies and completed a two year post graduate training program in psychodynamic therapy, which allows her to take a holistic approach to therapy.
