Dr. David Mednick is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist currently based in Hackensack, NJ. He received his Doctorate in 1992 from The Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Campus of Yeshiva University. He then completed a 2-yr Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology with Dr. Kenneth Kutner at Bergen Neuropsychology Group. Dr. Mednick worked Full-Time for 30 years at Fairleigh Dickinson University counseling college students and co-directing their Counseling department. Since the Covid-19 Pandemic, he has found that his patients have enjoyed the comfort, convenience & needs of Teletherapy beyond those that it provided just during the isolation/lockdown period. He is happy to now be expanding his practice and continuing to offer Telehealth sessions to new patients.
Dr. Mednick's philosophy is to work with patients on a short-term and goal-oriented manner so you can improve your functioning, comfort, and happiness as soon as possible. Since every person is different, he tailors his approach to each individual and their particular needs to find what works for them. He is very interactive and dynamic in his approach. He works on providing every individual patient with a useful, meaningful, and results-oriented learning & growth experience.
Dr. Mednick provides skilled and decades of extensive experience in the use of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (and some Eclectic/Psychodynamic Therapy to address deeper/longer term issues), plus Cognitive Remediation when needed for: Anxiety/Stress; Panic Attacks; Depression; Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Driving and other Phobias; Relationship Issues (any kind of relationship); Mental Health Issues related to Chronic Pain & Autoimmune Disorders; Self-Esteem Issues; Assertiveness issues; Anger Issues; Mild Traumatic Brain Injury; Post-Concussion Syndrome; Issues related to Gender & Sexuality; & more.
