Dr. David L. Raffle, PhD, HSPP is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Credentialed Neuropsychologist with over 30 years of experience working directly with older adolescents and adults with cognitive and memory problems from traumatic brain injuries and medical problems (e.g., stroke and brain cancer), and elderly clients with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias (e.g., vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and Lewy Body dementia).
The psychological evaluation is a process of data-gathering about how your family and social history, educational and vocational background, interpersonal relationships, and alcohol and drug use have contributed to your inability to function successfully on a day-to-day basis. Testing focuses on the three pillars of psychological symptoms: anxiety, depression, and thought disorders. Examining a list of various symptoms suggests one or more psychiatric diagnoses, which help in developing a plan for treating and managing your disorders. While focusing on your past to gather information is important to identify causes of your current problems, Dr. Raffle’s testing focuses more on your current strengths, and what you need in your toolbox to make positive and successful changes in your life.
Dr. Raffle has experience working with individuals with common psychological conditions, including anxiety, depression, Bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, and many other conditions. He also specializes in psychotherapy for individuals with cognitive and memory impairments from brain injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Dr. Raffle works with clients facing end-of-life issues, both in preparation for eventual loss, and the grief and bereavement process following the loss, for patients of all ages and their families. Everyone during these crises needs a professional who has the knowledge and experience to guide them through this most difficult time of life.
