Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSW Master of Social Work, MSWDrea Renzelli is a Licensed Independent Social Worker located in Athens, OH. Drea utilizes various strengths-based treatment modalities to best fit the needs of her clients. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is an evidence-based, well-researched treatment for survivors of trauma who have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). It has also been shown to be a beneficial treatment for anxiety, depression, chronic pain and other distressing life experiences. Drea is also a Certified Financial Social Worker and a member of the Financial Therapy Association who works with individuals and couples in better understanding their relationship with money and how to have healthier patterns of relating with money.
Drea’s style is collaborative and warm. She is dedicated to providing a therapeutic relationship where her clients feel safe, connected to her, and feel that they can be open in sessions. She tailors therapy to each of her clients to treat their unique needs since therapy is not a one-size-fits-all practice.
Drea received her master’s degree in social work in 2005 and has been practicing therapy ever since. Drea strives to be an ally to all those who are suffering. She provides ongoing, outpatient therapy to adults.
