Licensed Psychoanalyst, LPElliot Greenebaum is a Licensed Psychoanalyst located in Brooklyn, NY. Elliot is passionate about working with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, major life transitions, and creative blocks. He also has expertise in working with clients recovering from addiction and is currently in advanced training in addictions and compulsions at the William Alanson White Institute.
Elliot’s encourages clients to reflect on their inner desires, impulses, and beliefs. He strives to help clients see habitual patterns of handling emotions or getting needs met, patterns that may have been adaptive earlier in life but no longer work well. Elliot also incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness into his work, fostering a space where clients can increase their sense of agency and develop new and increased resilience to life’s stressors.
Elliot received a BA in Philosophy from Amherst College and trained at the Psychoanalytic Association Of New York, The Contemporary Freudian Society, And the William Alanson White Institute. He now operates a mostly in-person therapy practice and also produces online educational content about psychotherapy. He encourages potential clients see if working together may help them in their journey to feeling more at peace with their thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

Relationship issues - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating
Addiction - Coping with emotional discomfort and suffering; reducing or abstaining from unwanted behaviors such as unhealthy gambling or shopping
Creative blocks & writer's block - Setting goals and creating road maps to move beyond perfectionism, procrastination, and self-doubt; building self-awareness and skills to accomplish goals and fuel creativity
