Esther Wanjihia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Seattle, WA. Esther specializes in helping families create healthy routines and work through conflict. Many of her clients are parents who struggle with feeling confident in parenting their children, those blending families after a remarriage, and those going through separation or divorce. She also has experience supporting women going through fertility challenges or pregnancy, as well as postpartum depression or anxiety. Her goal is to provide the support that clients need to get through difficult transitions and to give them the skills they need to destress.
Esther practices a blend of therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Christian counseling. She encourages clients to identify patterns in their thoughts, feelings, or behaviors that hold them back from feeling confident or from genuinely connecting with others. Clients learn how to use effective communication strategies and coping skills, so even if they become overwhelmed, they know that they can regain a sense of control and balance from the situation. Esther enjoys taking a multicultural approach, welcoming clients of all backgrounds, identities, and situations.
Esther earned a Master’ s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University. She has over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. She believes in transformation, and how transformation must come from acknowledging and addressing challenges, even when they aren’t anticipated. By adapting to new situations, clients undergo growth that can leave them thriving.
