Gali Barak is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, in practice for 12 years.
As a lifelong dancer with specialized training in ballet, Gali has experienced both the exhilarating joy and intense scrutiny of coming of age in the dance community.
Her personal struggles with food and body image inform her work as a therapist, where she has worked with numerous individuals to rewrite their stories around relationships, substances, and societal expectations. The scope of her clinical experience includes work with adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Gali has worked in the addiction treatment industry for 11 years, both as a therapist and as a Clinical Director of an outpatient treatment center. She has worked with many clients struggling with addiction in ways that land them outside of the mainstream rehab industry.
Gali has collaborated with other healthcare professionals on providing alternative approaches to addiction. She holds firm beliefs about how problems with drugs and alcohol come to be, and how people can find freedom from these problems.
Gali holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, where she specialized in postmodern and narrative therapies. She holds a Bachelors in Communications from the University of California, Berkeley.
Gali is available for clients both online and in person in her West Los Angeles office.
She looks forward to supporting you along your journey to a more fulfilling life!
