Psychologist, PhDDr. Hadar Schwartz is a New York & New Jersey Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She specializes in anxiety, couples counseling, depression, college and graduate student mental health, and life transitions. She has particular interest and expertise in working with individuals in emergency medicine and with those who have experienced interpersonal trauma, including sexual assault and harassment.
In her work with individuals, Dr. Schwartz thoughtfully and compassionately engages with individuals as they wrestle with self-doubt, painful experiences, and confusion about identity. She understands the value of the therapeutic relationship in helping individuals build more meaningful, fulfilling, and genuine connections with themselves, with others, and with their work.
As an EFT-trained couples therapist, Dr. Schwartz employs these same techniques in her work with couples. She provides the space for open, honest, and responsive interactions between partners. Dr. Schwartz’s style is warm, authentic, and collaborative. She aims to help individuals gain greater self-awareness and self-compassion, empowering them to understand their relational needs and gain the tools to meet them. She looks forward to meeting you.
Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love
College student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Sexual harassment & assault - Caring support along the pathway to safety, wellbeing, and healing for survivors of sexual abuse and assault
Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress
