Professional statement

Jade Huggins is a Licensed Social Worker in Colorado. She works with adults specializing in work with queer and neurodivergent young adults (18-35). Many of Jade’s clients come to her when the weight and pain of not fitting into constrictive societal expectations leads to trauma, mood disruption, and daily care struggles.

As a queer and neurodivergent therapist Jade brings her lived experience as well as professional expertise to helping clients struggling with identity issues, mood disorders, neurodivergence, and in other times of stressful life change. She is particularly suited to work with recently diagnosed autistic adults or those on a journey of neurodivergent discovery and acceptance.

Jade is a relational therapist, who focuses first and foremost on creating an authentic relationship with each client that sees them as the expert in their life. When a client first comes in, Jade uses humor and clear communication to learn about each client’s strengths and provide a holistic and individualized therapeutic experience to support the client in achieving their therapeutic goals. Jade is dedicated to providing a therapeutic relationship that is focused on the enrichment of each client’s life while dismantling the stigmatizing systems that seek to blame individual people for societal issues.

As a Social Worker Jade is particularly dedicated to the ethical value of social justice and strives to bring that value to her work with clients inside and outside of sessions, while understanding that she is still operating within capitalism. She offers telehealth services and will try to work with each client to make therapy as accessible as possible.

Message to clients

I believe that therapy is a unique relationship built in the pursuit of what Audre Lord calls “Self-preservation [as] an act of political warfare”. Our society is built in such a way as to cause harm and blame individuals for not fitting into a system that doesn’t accommodate them. My goal as a therapist is to build a relationship with you that seeks to help guide you on your individual path of healing to reach your most authentic self, free of past pain and societal expectations.

Just as every client is different, so is every therapist. I strive to bring my best authentic self to each interaction I have with clients and ask my clients to attempt to do the same while understanding that vulnerability is hard and scary and my approach is not for everyone. Don’t let past failure or a wrong fit stop you from continuing to strive towards the life you deserve.

I hope that clients that work with me gain the everyday useful skills, healing from pain of the past, and the empowering confidence in themselves to not just survive but thrive.
