Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC Master of Science, MS Specialties • Insurance & Fees • LocationsJames Benton is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Dallas, TX. James enjoys working with college students who find themselves struggling to adapt to adult living. He also enjoys supporting older adults who are going through major life transitions such as retirement or relocation, as they figure out their new routines. By offering mental health services to a wide range of ages, James helps those with depression, anxiety, grief, identity issues, and overwhelming stress.
In therapy with James, clients will grow their self-awareness and learn about their innate thought patterns. If they identify thought patterns that are harmful, such as those that cause feelings of sadness or lead to unhealthy behaviors, James guides them through the development of new thought patterns. He provides the skills necessary to cope with life’s stressors and move past emotional roadblocks. By creating a warm, compassionate space for each client to talk about their feelings, he provides helpful perspective and kind consideration of next steps.
James earned his Master’s degree from Tarleton State University. He strongly believes that each therapy session should be person-centered, as clients are the experts of themselves. James empowers clients to see themselves as strong, confident individuals and take charge of their emotional health.
