Jenny Hoit is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of California and Ohio and Registered Art Therapist with offices in Santa Monica and West Hollywood, CA. Clients reach out to Jenny for many reasons. These experiences are often packaged into different therapeutic categories—life transitions, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, addiction, poor body image, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, or trauma. What they all have in common is that they are deeply human experiences.
Jenny’s approach to therapy is eclectic. She’ll respond to your needs and strengths, drawing from her experience, intuition, and the approaches she’s trained in—including family systems, talk therapy, art therapy, mindfulness, somatic therapy (which considers the mind/body connection) and attachment (relational) based therapy.
Your experience of therapy will be uniquely your own. Your work with Jenny can focus on specific goals or it can be exploratory and non-linear. While talking will usually be a large part of therapy, Jenny may also suggest somatic explorations (awareness and attention exercises of here and now felt senses), writing, reflective exercises, meditation practices, story telling, role playing, therapeutic touch, and art making. Together, you’ll discover what approaches work best for you.
Jenny received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy & Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University in 2009. She has extensive training in supporting people through stress, trauma, and significant change, including certification in Somatic Experiencing, Co-regulating Touch Work and Fitzmaurice Voicework. While her offices are located in the LA region, she also offers therapy online (by video) and therapy by phone to accommodate your needs. She is also licensed in the state of Ohio and offers remote therapy to Ohio residents.
