Dr. Jessica Shine is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Marietta, GA. She welcomes young adults and adults into her practice, including couples, who struggle with their emotions inhibiting important aspects of their lives. Many of Dr. Shine’s clients find that their anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship conflicts interrupt their ability to feel in control of their lives. Often, her clients’ mental health has been negatively impacted by trauma, leaving them with unconscious trauma reactions.
Dr. Shine’s approach to therapy incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness work. She teaches clients how to become more self-aware so they can identify what’s happening internally for themselves, with the goal of engaging effective coping strategies before reaching the point of overwhelm. When working with couples, Dr. Shine utilizes the Gottman Method to show clients the power that emotions have when it comes to bonding. Sessions with Dr. Shine are collaborative, creative, and exploratory as clients talk honestly about how they’re doing and what’s happening in their lives.
Dr. Shine earned a doctorate in Education in Community Care and Counseling-Traumatology from Liberty University. She is passionate about helping others and is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, Prolonged Exposure Therapy as well as Gottman therapist.
