Clark Miller is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in private practice on Oregon’s north coast. He works with all ages and behavioral health needs, specializing in complex needs, for example individuals and families impacted by stress and mood disturbance along with substance use, or parents with children impacted by trauma, school problems and disruptive behaviors. He is especially committed to helping clients frustrated by histories of inadequate benefit from services by taking a new look at diagnoses, needs, and new approaches.
He draws on more than 15 years direct practice experience in diverse settings with children, families and adults and with specialized training for adoptive families and advanced competence as a published substance use expert. Trained originally as a research scientist, his practice is grounded in informed commitment to therapies that work, as established by research – therapies that most importantly are personalized patient-centered interactions that feel right: understanding, trustful, unrushed, collaborative, and empowering. Evidence-based therapies that lead us to say, "Healing is Relational".
Clark’s therapy style is collaborative and client-centered, focused on developing your confidence, insight, and effective strategies for change – empowering rather than directing it. Clients at Clark Miller Therapy experience the uncompromised integrity of personalized, collaborative, individualized therapy with the skills of a licensed, published substance use and behavioral health expert.
Clark Miller has training and degrees in philosophy, research ecology, and clinical social work. Practice settings have been diverse, ranging from community mental health, residential programs, and medical settings, to state psychiatric hospital.
