Julie Alcorn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York City who works with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, perfectionism and life transitions, helping to incorporate mindful practices into their daily lives. She also has an expertise in eating disorder treatment, assisting clients at various stages of the recovery process from binge eating, anorexia, and bulimic disorders.
Julie’s approach to treatment is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E), which helps clients develop self monitoring skills to better understand the connection between their thought processes and actions. Julie is also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and will recommend strategies, such as targeted mindfulness practices, as helpful.
Prior to opening her private practice, Julie worked at The Renfrew Center and Columbus Park Collaborative. She received two years of training at the Ackerman Institute. She looks forward to working with you
