Professional statement

Kaela works from a psychodynamic relational perspective, while also incorporating CBT and solution-focused therapy when needed. She believes much of the way we have internalized the world and our beliefs about ourselves stem from early childhood experiences, attachment patterns, as well as social and societal factors. Uncovering the past by understanding what is here and now and discussing cultural considerations, she believes therapy can be a catalyst for change. The relationship between therapist and client can be healing and transformative.

Kaela focuses on the individual needs of each client, highlighting and celebrating their individuality. She hopes to offer culturally-affirming therapy to all her clients while pursuing the values of humility, hospitality, acceptance, and curiosity.

Message to clients

You are in control of your own mental health journey. I push clients to challenge their thoughts and thought processes, empowering them to be in charge of their own stories. I am warm, relational, direct, curious, and use humor and metaphors with clients. I am passionate about helping people feel seen, illuminating their strengths, and supporting them to develop solutions to the challenges they face in their lives. I approach therapy collaboratively and tailor my approach to each individual.

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, depending on the unique needs of each client. Each session may look different since we are all continually changing and adjusting to our surroundings.
