Professional statement

Kandace Ledergerber is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor located in Tempe, AZ. Kandace supports young adults and adults who struggle with intense feelings of shame, worthlessness, low self-esteem, or perfectionism. These emotions may be the result of trauma, and they negatively impact the way that clients see themselves and engage in relationships with others, including friends, family members, and partners. Her clients struggle with the instinct to over-achieve, which can lead to exhaustion. Kandace opens her practice to people of all backgrounds, as she is passionate about supporting marginalized communities.

Kandace takes a holistic approach to therapy, offering clients the tools they need for physical and emotional healing. Kandace practices an evidence-based therapy modality called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which leverages the brain’s natural functioning to encode painful memories into the past. This results in clients feeling less impacted by their trauma-related negative emotional reactions. Kandace is also a certified yoga teacher and enjoys incorporating mindfulness and movement into her sessions. She encourages clients to align their lives to their values and helps them do so in healthy ways.

Kandace helps clients heal from painful memories and negative past experiences. She empowers them to live authentic, values-aligned lives that include joy and meaning. She hosts a podcast called Moving Out of Trauma, which embodies her approach to working with clients in a trauma-informed way.

Message to clients

I get it; starting a new healing journey can be challenging, scary, and maybe even a tad exciting. You're ready to shift out of the negative patterns that have been holding you back, and you want to embrace a new way of living life, one that feels more authentic to who you truly are. I love working with people who identify as type-a, perfectionistic, highly driven individuals who are ready to step out of the narrative that trauma has shaped and find their own unique and authentic voice in their healing journey.

I'll work with you to find grounding tools and techniques that you can use daily to help you find more solid ground beneath your feet. When you are ready, we can start working towards re-processing past traumas that feed those negative patterns and messages so you can start shifting into the life you are craving. You didn't choose for trauma to happen to you, but you can absolutely choose your path toward healing.

Schedule a free 15-minute consult with me to find out if I'm the right fit for what you're looking for in your healing journey. If I'm not the right fit, I'm more than happy to help you find the right provider for you.
