Professional statement

Kandace is a trauma therapist who specializes in working with high-achieving, Type A women who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and the lingering impact of past trauma. Many of her clients appear successful and put-together on the outside but internally feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and stuck in patterns of people-pleasing and self-doubt. She helps clients navigate the deep-seated beliefs that keep them feeling trapped, supporting them in finding balance, self-trust, and emotional regulation.

Kandace utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is EMDR certified, as well as trained in Brainspotting, and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients reprocess past experiences and regulate their nervous systems. Her approach is both structured and compassionate—guiding clients through deep trauma work while providing practical tools for managing daily triggers. She believes therapy should be an active and empowering experience, giving clients the space to heal while also helping them build skills that support long-term emotional well-being.

With extensive training in trauma therapy and years of experience working with survivors of complex trauma, Kandace provides a specialized approach tailored to each client’s needs. She offers both weekly therapy and EMDR intensives, allowing clients to choose a pace that best supports their healing journey. Her practice is designed for individuals looking for targeted trauma work that fosters meaningful change.

Kandace offers both in-person sessions in Tempe, AZ, and remote therapy for clients throughout Arizona and Florida. 🚨 Availability Update: She is expecting twins and will be on maternity leave from June to September 2025. She is currently accepting new clients for short-term work before her leave or for her waitlist upon her return. Prospective clients are encouraged to schedule a consultation to explore if working together would be a good fit.

Message to clients

You’re exhausted from carrying the weight of everyone else’s needs while barely keeping your own head above water. You’ve spent years striving for perfection—pushing through, showing up, overachieving—because that’s what’s expected of you. But beneath it all, there’s a constant hum of anxiety, a fear of letting people down, and a voice that whispers, What if I’m never enough? You’re tired of feeling stuck in these patterns, and you’re ready for change.

I specialize in working with high-achieving, Type A women who have experienced trauma, helping them move from burnout and self-doubt to a place of balance, confidence, and healing. Using EMDR therapy, Brainspotting, and nervous system regulation tools, we’ll work together to process past trauma, quiet the inner critic, and build the self-trust you deserve. My goal is to help you feel safe in your body, set boundaries without guilt, and finally exhale.

I offer both weekly therapy and EMDR intensives for clients looking to accelerate their healing process. Therapy should feel like a space where you’re deeply seen and supported—not just a place to vent, but a place to create lasting change.

🚨 Availability Update: I’m expecting twins and will be on maternity leave from June to September 2025. I am currently accepting new clients for short-term work before my leave or for my waitlist upon my return. If you're interested, please book a consultation to explore if we're a good fit!
