Professional statement

Dr. Kathleen Camacho is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with individuals across the lifespan, as well as couples. With children and adolescents, she is passionate about helping children and teens experiencing anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, adjusting to change, and/or depression. She also loves working with those who may be struggling with these issues and are neurodivergent. In her therapy, she knows that helping children and teens feel seen, understood, and accepted are of utmost importance. She utilizes evidence-based approaches with the end goal of bringing kids and teens back to a place where they are free to play, be creative, happy, and form healthy, meaningful relationships.

With adults, Kathleen utilizes cognitive, behavioral, and experiential approaches to create lasting change through facing issues related to: fear; loneliness; longing to be seen and understood; and finding meaning/purpose, and adjusting to motherhood. Ultimately, her goal is to change:

1) the deeply held beliefs and fears that lead to inauthenticity and/or self-criticism

2 the expectations or narratives that no longer serve her clients and have historically moved them further away from the life they want

When working with couples, Dr. Camacho utilizes Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy to help partners reunite and strengthen their relationship. She knows that it can be an extremely painful experience feeling at odds or disconnected from your partner. Differences and quirks that once were part of the initial attraction can feel like barriers to connection that drive a wedge between you and your loved one.

Kathleen is warm, collaborative, and focused on doing what works. Her goal is to empower patients with the tools they need to face life's ups and downs, while practicing self-compassion.
