Katrina Bowen is a Therapist in Troy. She works with Individuals and adults of all ages. Many of Katrina’s clients come in to address depression, anxiety, life transitions. Katrina is particularly passionate about serving young adults. She also have advanced training in the area of major depressive disorder.

Katrina is trained in CBT, in which we examine maladaptive thought processes to create transitions into healthier behaviors and beliefs. In session, Katrina focuses on explore coping skills to create healthier behaviors and results such as journaling, physical movement, meditation, and support systems. This approach supports clients to work toward feeling like themselves once again.

Katrina's style is personable, approachable, non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy, create a safe, easy-going environment to explore past history and set goals.

Katrina received their MA, LPC from Oakland University. She has worked in various settings of the Oakland County Community Mental Health umbrella working with individuals with severe and persistent mental health as well as substance abuse disorders. Katrina is trained in CBT, which explores unhealthful thought patterns that create unfavorable behaviors. Katrina and client work together to shift these negative patterns to healthier and more wholesome. This approach assists clients feeling more like themselves once again.

Katrina’s style is personable and light-hearted. When a client first comes in, Katrina and client will explore pertinent history to better understand client and create appropriate treatment goals. Katrina strongly values a strong rapport between therapist and client to create a secure therapeutic environment.

Katrina received her Master’s of Counseling from Oakland University. Katrina has practiced in the Community Mental Health population for almost ten years gaining experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, and substance abuse disorders. Katrina has been seeing through her dream of helping individuals in a private practice setting for almost two years. Outside of practice, Katrina enjoys staying active, being in nature, and spending time with family and friends.
